Live Trip Updates – September 9, 2014

Every day we will post live trip updates. Check for the group code (starting with TL-30-) for a specific group…

TL-30-445 and TL-30-446: The group started their morning today with a camel ride through the Negev. Then, they headed out for a desert hike on the Nahal Chavarim trail. Next, they visited Sde Boker, a desert outpost and the grave of Israel’s first Prime Minister David Ben Gurion. After taking in some beautiful views, the group had a final activity to say goodbye to their Israeli peers who finished their time with the group today. The group then continued on their way, out of the desert, to the city of Netanya. On the way, they did one last desert activity at Naot Farm, a local desert farm. They will stay tonight at the Blue Bay Hotel in Netanya and enjoy a fun night out on the town in Tel Aviv.

TL-30-447: Today the group had an exciting first day in the desert. They began with an early morning hike up Masada to see the sunrise over the Israeli desert from the top. After walking down the snake path, they enjoyed a warm breakfast at the bottom. Later, they went to the Dead Sea to float in the water at Ein Bokek Beach. After some free time at the beach, the group came together for a final activity with their Israeli peers to bid farewell, as the Israelis finished their time with the group. After, the remaining group headed to the Bedouin tents to spend the night in Bedouin hospitality. They learned about Bedouin culture, had a delicious Bedouin style dinner, and relaxed around an evening campfire.
