Live Trip Updates – September 7, 2014

Every day we will post live trip updates. Check for the group code (starting with TL-30-) for a specific group…

TL-30-444: The group spent their final day in Israel today. In the morning they visited the Israel Museum and then had a final wrap up session to reflect on their time in Israel. They headed to the airport this afternoon to catch their flight back to the U.S.

TL-30-445 and TL-30-446: The group had a somber day in Jerusalem today. They first took a guided tour of Yad Vashem, Israel’s Holocaust Museum and Memorial. Then, they visited Har Herzl National Memorial and military cemetery. It was an emotional and powerful day for the group. Afterwards, they left the city and headed south for the desert, or Negev. Once they arrived in Arad, they finished the night with some fun activities led by the Israeli peers.

TL-30-447: The group spent today exploring Jerusalem’s Old City. They began by walking the City of David tour through the ancient underground tunnels. Then, they walked around the Old City’s Jewish Quarter and eventually made their way to the Kotel, or Western Wall and had time for personal reflection. Next, they traveled to Ben Yehuda Street for some free time on one of Jerusalem’s most popular pedestrian shopping streets. They finished the day with an activity at the hotel to prepare for their visit to Yad Vashem tomorrow.
