Live Trip Updates – July 30, 2014

TL-30-404: The group spent their last day in Haifa, exploring the Bahai Gardens, Eliyahu Cave, and the German Colony. After saying goodbye to the Israelis who joined them for part of their journey, the participants traveled to Caesaria, where they toured the ancient port city. In the evening, they departed for the airport and their flight home. We’ll miss you! Check out a photo from today…

July 30 - Mifgash house

TL-30-405: The group enjoyed some free time to relax on the beaches in Netanya before touring the ancient port city of Caesaria. In the evening, they left for the airport to fly home. We’ll miss you!

TL-30-406: The group spent their last day in Israel’s north, visiting Netanya, relaxing on the beautiful Mediterranean beaches, and touring the city of Haifa. In the evening, they enjoyed a closing dinner and wrap up session to conclude the trip. Late in the evening, they traveled to the airport to return to the States, bringing with them memories to last a lifetime. We’ll miss you!

TL-30-407: The group enjoyed another great day in the desert. They started the day completing a hike, followed by a visit to Sde Boker, a desert outpost and the grave site of Israel’s first prime minister, David Ben Gurion. Afterward, the group headed north. They spent the afternoon relaxing on the beautiful Mediterranean beaches in Netanya. In the evening, they had a closing dinner and final wrap up session.

TL-30-408 and TL-30-409: Once again, the groups woke up early. They were welcomed by a wonderful Bedouin breakfast after sleeping in the Bedouin tents. After leaving the tents, the group conquered a unique canyon hike through nearby Ein Ovdat, and visited the grave of David Ben Gurion, Israel’s first prime minister and one of the most influential founding fathers of the nation. They also visited Naot Farm where they learned about greener methods of farming in Israel, and sampled delicious locally grown herbs and produce. They then traveled to Jerusalem where they prepared for their visit to Yad Vashem tomorrow. 

TL-30-410: The group had have another fun-filled day in the north. They began the day with a visit to the beautiful, mystic city of Tzfat. The group had time to tour the city, visit several historic synagogues, learn about and shop in the stores of local artists, and taste some delicious local cuisine for lunch. Afterward, they visited the Daltin Winery in the Upper Galilee area for a tasting of local, Israeli wines. 

TL-30-411 and TL-30-412: The groups spent their first full day in Israel. They began the morning with a visit to the top of Mount Bental, a historic northern lookout point that provides views of Mount Hermon and the Golan Heights. The groups loved the beautiful views. In the afternoon, the group played water sports in the Kinneret, or Sea of Galilee. They spent the afternoon cooling off in the water, going banana boating, tubing, and playing games. After a fun filled day, the groups returned to Tiberias participated in a fun cultural activity. Check out these photos from today…

July 30 - Galilee 2

TL-30-413: The group arrived at the airport in good spirits and traveled to the aqueduct in Caesaria for a welcoming ceremony. They then visited Mount Bental, a historic northern lookout point that provides views of Mount Hermon and the Golan Heights, The group loved the beautiful views. They then checked into a kibbutz and enjoyed a welcoming session.
