TL-30-404: This morning the group had a long but exciting day, which began before dawn. They awoke extra early to climb Masada and view the incredible sunrise over the Israeli desert. They hiked the mountain using the Roman ramp and learned about the amazing history of Masada from the top. While at the top of Masada, some participants were b’nai mitzvahed by reading prayers atop the beautiful mountain. They also walked the Nahal David path to visit the desert oasis. In the afternoon they drove to the Dead Sea to have their first float in the salty water at Ein Bokek Beach. The group had a great time floating in the water and enjoyed covering themselves with mud. Next, the group headed to the Bedouin tents where they are spending the night. They learned about traditional Bedouin music, ate a delicious traditional Bedouin meal, and enjoyed a festive evening lit by bonfire.

TL-30-407: This Israel by Bike group spent their last day in Jerusalem on a somber note. They toured Yad Vashem, Israel’s Holocaust museum and memorial, followed by Har Herzl National Memorial, Israel’s national cemetery. It was a very meaningful and emotional day for the entire group. In the evening, the group left Jerusalem and departed for the Negev, or Israeli desert. Last night the group enjoyed their night camping out under the stars. Everyone loved the authentic camping experience and incredible night’s sky.

TL-30-408 and TL-30-409: The group traveled to Arad and prepared for the arrival of the Israeli peers who will be joining the tour on Tuesday morning. The addition of the Israeli peers will give the participants a great opportunity to learn about Israeli culture through people their own age. The group will be spending the night in Arad.

TL-30-410: The group landed this evening and, after a long journey, all is well in Israel! After arriving at Ben Gurion Airport, the group met their Israeli tour guide and headed up north to Kibbutz Orchan in the Golan Heights. Here they enjoyed their first dinner together and finished the evening getting to know one another better with a few ice breakers, all before settling into a much needed night’s sleep!
