Live Trip Updates – August 31, 2014

TL-30-713: Today, the group spent their final day in Israel in Jerusalem’s Old City. They started with a beautiful view of the entire city from atop the Haas Promenade. Then, they traveled inside the city to walk the ancient streets and complete the City of David tunnel tour. They eventually made their way to the Kotel, or Western Wall, to place a note in cracks of the Wall’s stones. Next, the group visited Mahane Yehuda, Israel’s largest open air market, and Ben Yehuda Street. They finished the day with a closing dinner and wrap up session to reflect on everything they have experienced while in Israel. Afterwards, they headed to the airport to catch their late night flight back to the U.S.

TL-30-438: The group had a meaningful last day in Jerusalem. They started by visiting Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum and Memorial. After lunch, they then headed to Har Herzl National Memorial and Military Cemetery. It was an emotional and powerful day for the entire group. At the end of the day, they left Jerusalem and departed south for the Israeli desert, or Negev.

TL-30-440: Today, the group got to explore Jerusalem’s Old City. They started the morning with a beautiful view of all of Jerusalem from the Haas Promenade. From here, they made their way inside the city and began learning about its history on the City of David tour. Then, they walked through the Old City and made their way to the Kotel, or Western Wall. After free time for lunch, the group spent time on Ben Yehuda Street, a popular pedestrian shopping street. The group finished their evening tonight with a group activity at the hotel to prepare for their visit to Yad Vashem tomorrow.

TL-30-441: The group started their day today with a trip to the Haas Promenade to see a beautiful view of the entire city of Jerusalem. Then, they headed inside the Old City to walk around and explore the history. They visited the Davidson Center to learn about the southern excavation of the Western Wall, and then headed over for their first full view of the Kotel. Afterward, the group traveled to Ben Yehuda Street for some free time on one of Jerusalem’s most popular pedestrian shopping streets. They finished the night with a group activity to prepare for their trip to Yad Vashem in the morning.

TL-30-443: The group began today with a fun northern hike to the beautiful Banias Waterfalls. Then, they traveled to Mount Bental for a breathtaking view of Israel’s northern border. Next, they cooled off in the Kinneret, or Sea of Galilee, with some fun water sports. They went banana boating, tubing, and played in the refreshing water. The group finished their day with some free time in downtown Netanya tonight.

TL-30-444: The group started their day in the north at the Gadot Lookout for a beautiful view of the Golan Heights and Mount Hermon. Then, they went on the challenging Nahal Zavitan hike. After lunch, the group saw another beautiful view of northern Israel from stop Mount Bental, and finished the afternoon with water sports in the Kinneret, or Sea of Galilee. At the end of the day, the group departed for Tel Aviv to spend the night.
