Live Trip Updates – August 20, 2014

TL-30-423 and TL-30-426: Today, the group spent the day in the northern city of Haifa. They toured the beautiful Bahai Gardens and Temple and then visited a breathtaking lookout point over the entire city and Mediterranean Sea. In the afternoon, the group also spent time on the beach, enjoying the Mediterranean coast. They finished the day with a closing meal and wrap up session to reflect on all they have done over the past 10 days. Bus TL-30-423 will then head to the Ben Gurion airport to catch their flight home. Bus TL-30-426 will spend one last evening in Israel with just their group before catching their flight home tomorrow morning. Check out these pictures from their day in Haifa.

TL-30-424: Today, the group did not visit Tel Aviv as scheduled and instead toured more of Israel’s north. They started the day in Jerusalem and then traveled to the lovely city of Zichron Ya’akov for lunch and touring. Then, they made their way to Caesarea to see the beautiful ancient Roman ruins there. They finished the day enjoying free time on the beach in Netanya, a relaxing spot on the Mediterranean Coast. At the end of the day, after a closing dinner and wrap up session, the group will head to the airport to catch their flight back to the states.

TL-30-425: The group spent their last day in the Negev today. They started with a visit to Sde Boker, a desert lookout and the grave site of Israel’s first Prime Minister, David Ben Gurion. Next, they took a challenging and beautiful desert hike through the Ein Ovdat canyons. They finished their time in the desert with a stop at Naot Farm, a local desert farm. The group then left the desert and headed north to Haifa, where they will enjoy a group night out and stay for the night. Below is a great picture of the group at Ein Ovdat!

TL-30-427: Today, the group explored more of the Israeli desert. They began with a visit to Sde Boker, a desert outpost and the grave of first Israeli Prime Minister David Ben Gruion. From here, the group received a beautiful view of the vast desert canyons. Then, they went on the desert hike Nahal Haverim. Afterward, the group left the desert and departed north for Haifa. Once in Haifa, the group will have a group night out on the town to experience Israeli night life. Here is a photo of the group on their desert hike!

TL-30-428 and TL-30-429: Today, the group awoke at the Bedouin tents and began another day in the desert. They first visited the desert outpost, Sde Boker, for a beautiful view and to visit the grave of Israel’ first Prime Minister David Ben Gurion. Then, they visited Naot Farm, a local desert farm, to learn about ecology in Israel. Afterwards, the groups left the desert and headed towards Jerusalem. They took in their first view of Jerusalem at Mount Scopus. Then, they went to their hotel for a political seminar on the current situation in Israel with Neil Lazarus. They will spend the night tonight in Jerusalem.

TL-30-430 and TL-30-435: The group explored more of Israel’s north today. They visited the mystic and beautiful city of Tzfat, built in Israel’s northern mountains. They learned about the history of the city, shopped in the stores of local artists, and ate a delicious local lunch. Afterward, they did a hike on Mount Merion. The group will spend another night in Tiberias tonight.

TL-30-431: Today, the group started their day with a challenging hike on Mount Merion. Afterwards, they traveled to Tzfat, to tour the mystic city. Here they did several activities, learned about the city, and had free time for shopping and lunch. The group also visited a beautiful lookout point in Tzfat, for a great view of the mountains of northern Israel. Tonight, the group will spend another night in Tiberias.

TL-30-432 and TL-30-795: The group began their day today with the Jilabun hike in the north. Then, they traveled to the Gadot lookout to see a beautiful view of northern Israel. After lunch they visited Mount Bental for a breathtaking view of Israel’s northern border. They finished the afternoon enjoying water sports in the Kinneret, or Sea of Galilee, like banana boating and tubing. They will stay tonight in the city of Tiberias.
