Perfect for hiking and outdoor enthusiasts, Along the Sea-to-Sea Trek is your opportunity to discover the beauty of Israel’s terrain with all your senses. Together we’ll embark on a 5-day journey from the shores of the Mediterranean Sea to the banks of the Sea of Galilee, hiking the very best trails of this epic trek. Along the way, we’ll cross the lush Galilee highlands, learn important orienteering skills, enjoy delicious campfire meals, and sleep under the stars.

Anyone who will be traveling on a Birthright Israel experience this coming summer or anyone who has already traveled on a Birthright Israel in the last year

NOTE: You are responsible for your making your own arrangements after your Birthright Israel experience ends until the Along the Sea-to-Sea Trek program begins.

$250
This program includes all meals, domestic transportation, all programming, AND the cost of your flight extension when booked in advance (for travelers on a Birthright Israel experience this summer).
ITINERARY
DAY #1 | Meetup in Tel Aviv
Approximately 4 miles
Pick up from Tel Aviv and travel north to the Western Galilee
Kick off the trek with an opening ceremony at Achziv Beach on the Mediterranean Coast.
Drive to Mitzpe Hila to hike along Nahal Kziv, passing the ruins of Montfort Castle along the way and refreshing pools of water along the way (yes, take a dip!).
Evening Program – Orienteering and basic survival skills workshop
Overnight: Camping at Abirim
DAY #2 | Discovering Landscapes
Approximately 7 miles
Drive to trailhead and continue along Nahal Kziv and stop at more refreshing pools.
Break at lunchtime in the Druze Village of Hurfesh for a cooking session and delicious meal.
Back on Nahal Kziv, begin the climb to Mt. Meiron, Israel’s second tallest mountain.
Traverse the Nerya Creek and discover the Morel Mushroom, second only in value to the Truffle. Evening Program – Bonfire
Overnight: Hirbet Homema Campsite
DAY #3 | Diverse Communities of the Galilee
Approximately 7 miles
Continue the climb toward Mt. Meiron – it’s the only place in the world you can see this incredible view of the Western Galilee, Lebanese Border, and the ancient and mystical city of Tzfat.
Today will include two special visits, first to Kibbutz Baram to tour the community and learn about the kibbutz lifestyle. Second, we’ll meet with a leader of the Galilee’s Maronite Christian Community. Evening: Cooking in the field workshop
Overnight : Ein Tina Campsite
DAY #4 | Jewish Thought & Mysticism in the Galilee Highlands
Approximately 3 miles
Hike the Amud Creek, meeting the endangered vulture community that lives on the cliffs above the creek and stopping in several natural pools for more refreshing breaks.
Finally, hike up to the city of Tzfat and take refuge in the forest for a special meditation session before driving to hotel in Tiberias.
Evening: Night out in Tiberias
Overnight: Tiberias Hotel
DAY #5 | Celebrate the journey at the Sea of Galilee
Bike from Tiberias along the Sea of Galilee, reflecting on the trek’s fulfilling four days and the beautiful scenery around you.
End the ride at a Galilee beach for the group’s closing ceremony and BBQ. From here, we’ll drive to Tel Aviv for the program conclusion and drop-off and return to Tel Aviv in the evening for the program conclusion (drop-off at Arlozorov Station).
