Quest, Foot, Bike, or Special Groups?

So, what's the difference?? Israel Outdoors offers three main options:
Israel Quest, Israel by Foot & Israel by Bike as well as some Special
Groups. So what's the difference? Each and every Israel Outdoors
experience includes must see highlights like...

  • Jerusalem's Old City and Western Wall
  • Tel Aviv - The cultural capital of Israel
  • The Dead Sea and Masada
  • The Mediterranean Coast
  • The Sea of Galilee
  • Eilat and the tropical Red Sea*
  • The Negev and Judean Deserts

Each and every trip also includes must do activities like:

  • Desert camel riding
  • Ancient tunnel crawling
  • Bedouin tent experience
  • Taking part in an archeological dig
  • Cultural and culinary events
  • Group and free nights out on the town
  • Rafting on the Jordan River**

However, there are some important differences from there. We offer
multiple programs because we know that no two people have the same
expectation for how they would like to experience Israel. Here are
your choices...

Israel Quest

Israel Quest is the "classic" Israel experience. The Israel Quest trip includes a little taste of everything that Israel has to offer...as well as extra time spent experiencing the culture, people, and nightlife of Israel's cities and towns. While the Israel Quest trip does the same river rafting, camel riding, zip-lining, and swimming as our other trips, the overall pace of the Quest experience tends to be more relaxed. You definitely do not need to be "outdoorsy" to enjoy this trip, although we promise you will fall in love with Israel's beautiful mountains, desert canyons, and sandy beaches. Israel By Foot
The Israel By Foot trip builds on the core Israel Outdoors experience with a series of five to six breathtaking day-hikes throughout Israel's major geological regions: the Negev desert, the Jerusalem foothills, and the Golan-Galilee mountains. Each hike typically runs for one to three hours and may include crawling through tunnels, wading through rivers, and scrambling up desert mountain. Although the Israel By Foot experience is definitely active, the program still uses a bus to get from place to place -- so plan to bring a daypack, not a backpack! This experience also includes one memorable night of camping in the desert and a bonfire cookout under the stars in the heart of the Negev Desert (sleeping bags provided, although feel free to bring your own). Learn More: Israel By Foot

Israel By Bike
The Israel By Bike trip builds on the core Israel Outdoors experience with a series of three or four bike rides across Israel's major geological regions: the Negev desert, the Jerusalem foothills, and the Golan-Galilee mountains. Each bike ride typically runs for two to three hours. The bike riding itself is typically off-road, although the terrain is not technical -- which means that as long as you know how to ride a bike with two wheels, you should be fine! In all seriousness, we believe that seeing Israel by bike is a unique and refreshing way to see the country. For more information about preparing for Israel By Bike,

Special Groups
Each year, Israel Outdoors partners with a number of innovative Jewish organizations and regional communities to provide a series of "Special Group" options for Taglit-Birthright Israel applicants. In each case, our Special Group programs are based on the core Israel Quest trip experience. The actual itineraries may vary according to the idea behind the trip, and certain Special Group programs are offered only to specific populations (e.g. medical students) or regions (e.g. Greater Atlanta). In general, availability tends to be limited on these programs, so please be sure to let us know upfront if you have a particular interest in joining one of these Special Group experiences.
